Chicago: Day 2- Field Museum and LOTS of walking

The kids were up bright and early, and ready to continue working on their 'Tent City' project.  Watercolors were the media of the wee hours.
After breakfast and rush hour, we loaded up and headed to the Field Museum of Natural History (which we get admission to for FREE with our Science Museum of MN passes!!).  I happen to have a couple of dino buffs, so we had to go check it out!  We took the train!

It was already getting a bit warm out (in the 90's for sure), so we were relieved to make it to the air conditioned museum.  We spent about three hours exploring the exhibits until Justin was d-o-n-e.

After our exciting adventure (we checked out the Animal collection, the Dinosaurs, the Egyptian exhibit and the World's Fair exhibit), we opted for a cab ride home.
After trying to relax for a bit at the apartment, it was time for a trip to Target.  We picked up some summertime essentials:  Popsicles airbed and a window fan.  Hopefully this will make our second warm night in Chicago a little more bearable!
Oh-- I mentioned 'lots' of walking in the title-- according to Cathleen's GPS, we walked about 9.4 miles today.....ALEX walked about 9 of those!  No complaints, no whining.  Just strong, strong legs!
