I've been in the mood for a Farmer's Market for a while now, and they've just started up here in the Twin Cities. We headed into downtown St. Paul today to check out a 'bigger' one. To avoid parking hassels, we parked in Dave's work building- great idea! It was a bit farther away than we anticipated, but Alex was a trooper, and walked the half-mile with no problem.
The weather was beautiful, and we enjoyed smelling the flowers and sampling the fare. We brought home a bounty of local produce-- rhubarb (a bundle for $1!), teeny tiny new potatoes, sugar snap peas and fresh strawberries from Northfield.
We stopped for a snack- fresh eggrolls and kettle corn- before hiking back to the car. Another bonus of parking in Dave's building was that we were able to visit Daddy's office and enjoy nice clean restrooms and a drink of water before coming home.
We had Auntie Carrie over to share our dinner tonight-- on our menu was Adobo Pork Chops (from our CSA), Garlic Roasted New Potatoes, Roasted Sugar Snap Peas and a freshly-baked Northfield Strawberry Rhubarb crumble with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Mmmm.....
